Straight Outta Runway: The Most Fashionable Dog - Tika

Hey guys!! I'm back with something to share that I find quite interesting and intriguing, there is someone who's taking our breathes away with her style statement. Tika the Iggy is proving to be more than simply a meme-worthy dog; she's also fueling the expansion of pet clothing.

Tika's is an Italian greyhound dog that is winning people over one post at a time, dressed in elegant outfits that are customized to fit her. The celebrity dog has its own Instagram account, which is full of photos and videos of the canine in outrageous and colorful clothes.

My friend Sanchita shared me an Instagram post in December of last year that featured an elegant greyhound dressed in a series of vividly colored, gorgeous dog clothes. The dog looked to be lamenting that she couldn't wear any of her "lovely" outfits because of Covid, according to a voiceover by Venezuelan comedian Lorena Pages. She said, with all the tired fury of any human fashionista, "I loved it, couldn't wear it." I laughed out loud, watched the video several times more, and then shared it on my Instagram Stories.

I wasn't the first to think about it. Tika, a nine-year-old Italian greyhound owned by Thomas Shapiro and his spouse from Montreal, Canada, was already a well-known pet influencer at the time, with photographs of her in cable-knit jumpers with pom-poms, slouchy hoodies, and fluffy capes garnering thousands of likes. But it was with this video that she broke through beyond the Fido fanatics and into the world of fashion.

Vogue's subsequent "interview" with Tika, in which the dog "spoke" about her favorite clothes, was a perfect instance of this. “I have a soft spot for designers who develop styles for women in sizes XXXXXS and XXXXXS. As a result, I'm a big fan of Adidas and Marine Serre's unique streetwear style. She says, "If it's good enough for Beyoncé, it's good enough for me."

Here's to the dog that is more fashionable and experimental than most of us.
